Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Velvet Night account and what happens to your data when you do.
1. Delete your account from inside the app
Open Velvet Night and sign in, then:
- Go to the Profile tab
- Open Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm when prompted
Your account and the data listed below are deleted immediately, and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.
2. If you cannot sign in
Email velvetnightapp@gmail.com from the address registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your sign-in credentials and authentication record
- Your profile: display name, email address and profile picture
- Your favourites
- Your listening history and saved playback positions
- Any reviews or ratings you have written
4. What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of information is retained after deletion because we are legally or contractually required to keep it:
- Purchase and subscription records, retained for up to eight years to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements. These records are also held independently by Google Play, and deleting your Velvet Night account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it in your Google Play account settings.
- Server logs containing IP addresses, retained for up to 90 days for security and fraud prevention, after which they are erased automatically.
Audio you downloaded for offline listening is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
